
Following a less than amicable departure from MSNBC, news host Melissa-Harris Perry has executed her next career move. According to Deadline, Harris-Perry is jumping ship as a special correspondent for BET News. During her tenure at BET News, Harris-Perry’s duties will consist of hosting and making contributions to a variety of the network’s programs. In addition, the host will curate longform news specials for the network’s informed viewers. However, Harris-Perry won’t be alone.

In her first call of duty for BET News, Harris-Perry will join forces with CNN correspondent Marc Lamont Hill to co-anchor election coverage for both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. For those unfamiliar with Harris-Perry’s past career woes, the political commentator departed MSNBC earlier this year after her weekend news show experienced constant preemptions at the hands of the network due to election season.
