Amid the swirling racist controversy Liam Neeson is sinking in, his Widows co-star Michelle Rodriguez doesn’t believe he is a racist. And it all has to do with how he kissed Viola Davis.
Neeson has been in hot water for saying he was on a major manhunt to a kill a black man because he wanted vengeance after a close friend was raped by a black man. “I’m ashamed to say that – and I did it for maybe a week, hoping some ‘black bastard’ would come out of a pub and have a go at me about something, you know? So that I could kill him,” he told The Independent.
Since then, the actor has been under the radar. During a recent interview with Vanity Fair at an amfAR Gala event in New York, Rodriguez admitted to believing that Neeson isn’t racist because of his talents in smooching black actresses like Davis.
“Dude, have you watched Widows? His tongue was so far down Viola Davis’s throat. You can’t call him a racist ever,” she said. “Racists don’t make out with the race that they hate, especially in the way he does with his tongue—so deep down her throat. I don’t care how good of an actor you are. It’s all bullsh*t. Ignore it. He’s not a racist. He’s a loving man. It’s all lies.”
“It’s all f**kin’ bulls**t. Liam Neeson is not a racist,” she continued. Elsewhere in the interview, The Fast And The Furious actress also revealed she’s not sure if she will return to the franchise, which all the depends upon the script. Rodriguez also mentioned she’s more focused on empowering women at this juncture in her career.
“My energy is completely directed toward the feminine right now and supporting women. I’ve spent most of my life shooting guns, and hanging out with the boys, and watching them scratch their balls, and smelling protein-mixed farts,” she said.
