In the early 80’s, actor Mickey Rourke was a heartthrob amongst female cinephiles! Now, he has done more work than Joan Rivers!
The charismatic actor isn’t shy about his plastic surgery work, but his post-surgery woes have come to light in a series of images showcased by gossip rag, The National Enquirer. In them, the 60-year-old actor’s face is swollen, bruised and visibly cut up. His head is wrapped in surgical bandages.
Rourke opened up about a botched plastic-surgery job which happened back in 2009, saying to the Daily Mail, “Most of it was to mend the mess of my face because of the boxing, but I went to the wrong guy to put my face back together. “I had my nose broken twice. I had five operations on my nose and one on a smashed cheekbone,” he added. “I had to have cartilage taken from my ear to rebuild my nose and a couple of operations to scrape out the cartilage because the scar tissue wasn’t healing properly.”
Fortunately, the star of the Ric Flair inspired motion picture, “The Wrestler,” it appears that the scars have faded and the swelling has gone down. But there is a lesson to be learned here, kiddos: Always love who you are no matter what!
