No hangover here. Mike Tyson is set to join Pamela Anderson and Russell Brand as part of the cast alongside Austin Abrams and Sasha Pieterse in Werner Herzog’s adaptation of the Booker prize-winning novel Vernon God Little, according to Hollywood Reporter.
The boxing veteran, who has starred in The Hangover, plans to flex his acting muscles as an axe murderer named Vernon in the coming-of-age story of a teenager whose world is turned upside down after his best friend, Jesus Navarro, kills their classmates and Vernon becomes a suspect. Tyson’s role would also include delivering the title line of the novel.
Pamela’s role is currently still under wraps but comedian Russell Brand will play a scheming news reporter looking for an exclusive angle on the story.
The movie adaptation is produced by Katya Eichinger with Mexico’s Canana Films and will be co-produced by Diego Luna, actor Gael Garcia Bernal and Pablo Cruz. Filming is set to take place in the U.S. and Mexico.
