Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown raised some eyebrows after she revealed in a recent interview that she and Drake text regularly abut boys and career advice, among other things. Brown is 14 and Drake is 31, but despite the huge age gap, the teenager assures everyone that it is an innocent and harmless friendship. Brown recently hopped on social media on Thursday (Sept. 21), to address the backlash, shaming critics for thinking ill of their “lovely friendship.”
“Why u gotta make a lovely friendship ur headline?” the actress wrote. “U guys are weird… for real.”
The actress also noted that she was thankful to receive advice from Drake and other veterans in the industry. “I’m lucky to have people in the business extend their time to help me further my career and offer their wisdom and guidance,” she continued. “I’m very blessed to have amazing people in my life. U don’t get to choose that for me.”

She added: “It’s nice to have people who understand what I do. Now get back to talking about real problems in this world other than my friendships… jeez.”
As previously noted, the controversy started after Brown told Access Hollywood that she gets dating advice from the “Emotionless” artist. “He texted me the other day and was like, ‘I miss you so much’, and I was like, ‘I miss you more!’,” the 14-year-old recalled. When asked to give examples of Drizzy’s best advice however, Brown stated that it “stays in the text messages.”
Drake has been under scrutiny lately for his relationships with younger women. In addition to Millie Bobby, the rapper has also been criticized for his alleged involvement with 18-year-old model Bella Harris. While the two have been spotted cozying up to one another at dinner, details of their romance have not been confirmed.
At least it’s clear in the case of Drake and Millie Bobby Brown, that they are just friends. Check out her post on social media here.
