
Natasha Rothwell has been splitting our sides as Kelli on HBO’s hit-series Insecure for quite some time now. Luckily for fans of the show and of this talented lady, the good times have just begun.
According to Deadline, the actress and comedienne scored an overall deal with the premium cable network. Rothwell, who is a series regular and supervising producer for Insecure, is currently developing a series that she will executive produce, write and star in.
Upon the news’ release, Rothwell posted on Twitter “Dear 2019,
I’m coming for you. Love, Natasha #pinchingmyself.” Members of the comedy community such as Quinta Brunson, Akilah Hughes and Julie Klausner congratulated the talented actress on her exciting and deserved glow-up.
Since appearing on the show, Rothwell’s resume has only continued to expand. Per the initial report, “She’ll next be seen in Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984, as well as the live-action animated film Sonic the Hedgehog based on the Sega video game. Rothwell also will appear in the indie film Limited Partners opposite Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne.”
Rothwell was a writer for Saturday Night Live and is an advocate for the arts. She has worked with the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, IPP NYC College Prep High School, Arena Stage and other organizations.
