If you’re like the rest of the world, you are not a fan of owning cable, and that’s a great thing since Netflix is really putting its weight behind Breaking Bad.
Since Season 3 of the popular AMC show, citizens in the United Kingdom had to either steal the series from friends, import the discs from the States or stream them through Netflix. With options still limited abroad to watch the show’s sixth and final season, which airs starting August 11, hardcore fans will have to wait until the full season has aired to watch them online.
Fortunately, if you live in the U.K., or Ireland, Netflix announced today that it will stream new episodes of the sixth season in those regions each Monday—the day after they air in the U.S.
“Netflix has been instrumental in making Breaking Bad the success that it is,” show creator Vince Gilligan said in a statement, “particularly in the U.K. and Ireland, where it has built an audience and become a huge phenomenon.”
The agreement between Netflix and AMC marks another intriguing new twist in the former’s ongoing mutation of TV viewing practices and habits.
Breaking Bad‘s hoorah kicks off on August 11, which will be followed up by repeats of the show in the early hours of August 12th in the U.K.
