While season 3 of Orange Is The New Black was all about character development and tying up loose ends, it looks as though everything is hitting the fan in the upcoming season of the hit Netflix series.
The season 4 trailer dropped Tuesday (May 10) full of new characters and positions at Litchfield. For one, the promise expansion was fulfilled with the introduction of more characters, including a few rebel skinheads. Everyone seems to have an issue with Piper, leading her to fear for her safety. Knowing the former panty-pusher’s very sneaky ways, it’s possible she might have done something to put the battery in the back of some of her newfound enemies.
On the lighter side of things, Taystee has a new job as Caputo’s secretary, we get to see more of Maritza Ramos (Diane Guerrero) and a potential plot with a guard (a la Daya) and the rise of Gloria (Selenis Leyva) and her crew in and out of the kitchen.
The trailer also revealed a few more things like…

Crazy Eyes creeping out an inmate.

Black Cindy taking on some inmates that will more than likely get on our nerves.

Sophia (Laverne Cox) is still in the “Secure Housing Unit” or the SHU “for her own protection.” This has the potential of opening up a larger conversation about the way some transgendered women are treated in prison.
There’s also a few people that are noticeably missing from the trailer like Alex, Nicky Nichols (Natasha Lyonne) and Stella, played by breakout star Ruby Rose.
Orange Is The New Black returns to Netflix on June 17. Peep the trailer below.
