On what would have been the fallen actor’s 42nd birthday, Paul Walker’s 16-year-old daughter Meadow took to Instagram to commemorate her father’s life with a touching tribute. Sharing a few of Walker’s passions, Meadow announced the launching of a foundation in the Fast & Furious star’s honor, rightfully named The Paul Walker Foundation:
“Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions,” she wrote. “His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation (@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my father. #DoGood”
The Paul Walker Foundation is the second charitable organization founded on the passions of the late actor. Walker co-founded Reach Out Worldwide in 2010 in an effort to help communities cope with post-disaster restoration, including those in Haiti, Alaska, the Philippines, Chile and Nepal. The newly-founded charity will focus on the conservation of the world’s oceans through scholarships for student pursuing degrees in marine studies:
THE PAUL WALKER FOUNDATION IS TO SERVE AS AN ENDURING LIGHT OF PAUL’S UNIQUE SPIRIT, FAR REACHING GOALS, AND SPONTANEOUS GOODWILL. MANY OF HIS TRAITS HAVE BEEN PASSED ONTO HIS DAUGHTER MEADOW. MEADOW IS EXCITED TO BE CARRYING ON HIS LEGACY. ONE OF THE KEY WAYS SHE PLANS TO MEET THIS CHALLENGE IS BY HELPING OCEAN LEADERS OF TOMORROW BECOME BEACONS IN THE FIGHT TO PROTECT OUR OCEANS, WILDLIFE, AND OURSELVES.
