
The award tour continues for the critically praised Precious: Based On A Novel By Sapphire, which earned three Golden Globe Awards nominations, announced this morning.
The film is nominated for best motion picture in the drama category, along with Avatar, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds and Up in the Air. First-time actress Gabourey Sidibe is up for best actress in a motion picture, drama. She’ll be in the race with Emily Blunt (The Young Victoria), Helen Mirren (The Last Station), Carey Mulligan (An Education) and Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side).
Meanwhile, Mo’Nique, who played Sidibe’s mom in the movie, will be vying for best actress in a supporting role, drama, alongside Penelope Cruz, (Nine), Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air), Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air) and Julianne Moore (A Single Man).

Presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Golden Globes will air on Jan. 17 on NBC, at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT. –Clover Hope
