Certainly not the oddest news of the week, but definitely the most intriguing!
President Barack Obama, during an appearance on Michael Yo’s “The Yo Show,” felt the need to address the on-going feud between “American Idol’s” Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. Funny since the president won’t even touch certain political issues such as gun control or urban violence in Chicago or New York, but the fight between the two divas received his few moments of attention.
The president presented his intelligent and diplomatic self on the radio show and gave his assessment on whether or not he could “repair” the relationship.
“I think that they are going to be able to sort it out, I am confident,” the president said. “I’m all about bringing people together, working for the same cause. I think both are outstanding artists and are going to be able to make sure that they’re moving forward and not go backwards.”
Host Michael Yo even got the POTUS to say which of the two artists are his personal favorite. The round of questioning led Obama to say that Mariah is his favorite, since she and her husband Nick Cannon have both done events for him in the past. “Mariah, she’s actually done some events for us. I’ve gotten to know her and Nick very well. She’s a wonderful lady. Nicki, I don’t know, but I’ve got her on my iPod.”
The “feud” between these two musicians got out of hand a few weeks prior, as Mariah told Barbara Walters that Nicki threatened to shoot her.
