Comedian and radio show personality Rickey Smiley has reportedly been hospitalized. Smiley revealed the unfortunate news in a series of posts on Instagram on Wednesday (Dec. 19).
According to a video Smiley shared, he has been in a hospital bed since Monday (Dec. 17), although the circumstances surrounding his illness are unknown. “I’ve been in the hospital since Monday, and December has been a rough, rough, rough month,” he wrote in the video’s caption, before thanking his doctors and fans for aiding him in his recovery. “Thank you for your well wishes. #JesusIsMyDoctor.”
In the video, Smiley reiterated that Dec. has been tough on him before using a tool to test his breathing. In another video, the radio personality appeared to be on the phone with a woman by the name of Ms. Jannie. During the call, he jokingly told her that the doctors prescribed him marijuana for his illness, to which Ms. Jannie replied with a grand, “what?”
It’s unclear when Rickey Smiley will be released from the hospital. Wishing him love and light during this tough time.
