Ever since Felicity Jones was casted in an unspecified role in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, speculation has run rampant, but did she confirm her role in the superhero sequel?
“I don’t want to be told what to do,” she said to Collider. “I want to share it with someone and work it out together.”
With that said, Felicity Jones shown why Marvel has been killing DC Comics at the box office. The popular rumors have been in favor of the young starlet playing Felicia Hardy. For those without a Comixology account, Hardy is the daughter of an infamous cat burglar who takes up her father’s mantle to become the jewel thief The Black Cat.
She has a love-hate relationship with Spider-Man, which could hint at another potential love interest for the film’s star, Andrew Garfield.
Jones seemed to confirm that she’ll be playing someone costumed in an interview with Collider where she said she’s had a hand in working with director Marc Webb on her “outfit.” Whether or not her “job” will improve how the film will do when released remains to be seen. The film’s plot is still unclear if it’ll even actually explore the jewel thief’s storyline, but even more interesting is the idea that Jones could play Lily Hollister, girlfriend of Harry Osborn.
The Osborns do play a big part in the sequel, as villains Electro, Rhino, and The Green Goblin all have set their sights on the web-headed one. Other rumors are being tossed around, but for now we’ll just have to wait until May 2, 2014 to see what’s what.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 also stars Emma Stone, Dane DeHaan, Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti.
