By now, everybody and their mama has questioned Iggy Azalea’s authenticity. Next up? Saturday Night Live. In a sketch titled “The Iggy Azalea Show,” Kate McKinnon plays the Grand Hustle rapstress, who sporadically jumps from unsuspecting Aussie to tough-talking rapper at the drop of a hat. The clip also features a faux Azealia Banks (played by Sasheer Zamata) and Jay Pharoah as T.I., Iggy’s “rap daddy.”
“I created her. She’s my Franken-fine,” Pharoah says in the sketch, mimicking Tip’s Atlanta accent.
Blatantly attempting to copy Banks’ moves and wardrobe, Iggy also gets a helping hand from her Australian hip-hop mentor Rafty Drones (Riff Raff?), who gives her horrible tips on how to be a rapper. Rafty is played by Chris Hemsworth.
Breaking her Twitter sabbatical, the real Azealia Banks offered her two cents on the skit:
I totally have to chime in on the SNL skit. It was really funny and spot on. I loved my outfit so much LOL . @nbcsnl
