Will Smith and Martin Lawerence’s buddy-cop franchise is on its way to theaters. Sony announced Friday (Dec. 9) the official release dates for their upcoming films, Bad Boys 4 and Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, as well as the official trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Variety reports the company pushed Bad Boys 4 up from a Fouth of July holiday weekend release to May 24, 2019. For those wondering about the rollout to Bad Boys 3, the film officially titled Bad Boys For Life will debut Jan 2018. It was originally slated for June 2017. After appearing on Jimmy Kimmel this week to promote his new heart-wrenching film Collateral Beauty, the actor slightly dodged questions about the movie, after reports surfaced that the gang will begin shooting in March. Sporting a mustache, he hinted it was for a film where he would portray an LAPD officer (insert thinking emoji here).
Lawrence set fans into a frenzy back in 2014 when he confirmed the existence of the third film. Bad Boys was released in 1995 to paltry reviews but remained a hit at the box office. The sequel followed suit wowing fans and critics alike. Smokin Aces director Joe Carnahan will helm the third film, replacing Michael Bay who directed the first two.
