We’re still having difficulty wrapping our minds around what just happened. After Chris Rock called out the very pink, excuse us, “white” elephant in the Oscar auditorium due to the Academy’s lack of diversity, a joke that was suppose to be funny fell painfully flat.
Clueless alum and Fox News host Stacey Dash made her way to the stage as host Chris Rock presented her to the audience as (wait for it) “The New Academy Director of Diversity Outreach.”

The joke merited no applause from the audience because the 49-year-old is infamous for comments that are the complete opposite of diversity outreach. After the Internet digested the very awkward moment, many voiced their opinion.
That Stacey Dash moment might be the first time an #Oscars telecast has aired a #BlackTwitter inside joke.
