Steve Harvey maybe the luckiest man alive.
After announcing the wrong contestant as the winner of Miss Universe 2015, and then incorrectly spelling the names of Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines in a apologetic tweet, Steve Harvey has been invited back to host next year’s pageant.
According to reports, Mark Shapiro, Chief Content Officer at WME|IMG said it was Harvey’s humility after the snafu, and sincere remorse that earned him the second chance.
“He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following. … I definitely want him back, and I would hate to see him not come back,” Shapiro said. “He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself.”
The Belize Tourism Board also did their part in coaxing The Family Feud Host to return.
Dear @IAMSteveHarvey, we all make mistakes. You handled yours with class. Would you host our next pageant? @CostaMayaFest#MissUniverse2015

Harvey, who has apologized to both contestants, and has since been the subject of Internet jokes, Tweets and memes, hasn’t made a statement yet on whether or not he’ll return as host for Miss Universe 2016.
