Nearly an entire week later, box office metrics are still reeling from Straight Outta Compton‘s opening weekend, which raked in a whopping $60.2 million nationwide. There’s only one thing that kind of movie success means: the possibility of a sequel.
According to TMZ, tinseltown is already thinking of a followup to the N.W.A. biopic, but this time the spotlight will be on Snoop Dogg & Co. A new film—tentatively titled Dogg Pound 4 Life—is allegedly being developed to depict the rise of a slew of the West Coast’s finest: Snoop, Tupac, Nate Dogg, Warren G, Kurupt and Daz.
Daz reportedly told TMZ that the flick will pick up right where Straight Outta Compton left off, discussing gang violence’s effect on the rap industry. Dr. Dre’s son, Curtis Young, is said to fill his father’s shoes in the film and all new actors will be plucked to play Ice Cube and Snoop.
If this news is true, the movie’s looking to be one hell of a spin-off.
