Despite receiving negative reviews and a dismal 33 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it looks as if Suicide Squad is having the last laugh if its box office predictions are anything to go by.
According to Deadline, the superhero flick is highly predicted to take the American box office by storm for its opening weekend. The movie, which stars Viola Davis, Will Smith and Margot Robbie, will debut in approximately 4,200 theaters. This would make it the biggest August opener in American box office history, supplant current record holder Guardians Of The Galaxy.

In addition to the abundance of theaters seeking to satisfy superhero junkies, the film is predicted to make between $130M to $140M in America during its opening weekend. With numbers like these, looks to supplant fellow DC franchise movie Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice in terms of its gross revenue at the American box office is likely.
Those hoping the superhero trend that has permeated popular culture for the majority should be advised that it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
