Tessa Thompson and Michael B. Jordan will return to the big screen this November for the second installment of Creed. And while Jordan’s character Adonis will take on his biggest rival yet, it’s Thompson who plays Bianca, that acts as his rock.
In an exclusive clip, Thompson speaks candidly about Bianca’s progression from the first film, which was released in 2015 to now. “Bianca is someone who really has her own agency and you see that reflected in her own music,” Thomspon says.
In the first film, Bianca and Adonis’ relationship was new, fresh and not fully confirmed. In Creed II, their union has crystallized. Viewers will now see that over the last three years the two each made gains in their own careers, but also in their relationship.
“In this film, we wanted to have their own careers and passions but learning to have love together as well,” Jordan said.
Thompson revealed her character understands why Adonis has to take the fight with the son of the man who killed his father, but she’s also incredibly scared. “Bianca supports her man through and through but I think when she gets a look a Drago she’s like ‘Oh boy’,” the actress says with a laugh.
Creed II hits theaters Nov. 21.
