Tiffany Haddish is on one helluva journey. The comedienne recently inked a new deal with Netflix for a one-hour stand-up comedy special, Variety reports.
The special has not received a title at this time. Nevertheless, Lisa Nishimura, vice president of original documentaries and comedies at Netflix, said that the service is excited to add the star to its growing selection of comedy specials. “Tiffany Haddish is a force,” Lisa Nishimura said. “Hilariously funny, brash and self-effacing, she’s an incredible artist who is winning over audiences while breaking barriers, and we are tremendously proud that she will showcase her formidable talent on Netflix.”
The upcoming special will mark Haddish’s second deal with the streaming platform. She has already signed on to voice a lead character in the forthcoming animated series Tuca & Bertie.
Haddish’s stand-up show will join several Netflix specials that have been released in the past couple of years. Previous Netflix deals include Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, and Ellen DeGeneres.
In other news, Haddish is gearing up for the blockbuster comedy Night School with Kevin Hart. The film will debut in theaters on Sept. 28.
