If you’re a true gamer, then you’ve already heard all this before: Everything is better with Kinect. And you know what? It’s true!
NBA 2K13 will be the first title in the long-standing e-sports franchise to take advantage of the powers within the Xbox 360 Kinect. Senior producer Rob Jones commented on the development earlier, saying, “We wanted the Kinect to be a seamless experience, and what more so than being able to direct your teammates and call plays, or call for substitutions without having to pull up menus.”
The video above is the first gameplay that we’re seeing that utilizes NBA 2K13‘s gameplay combined with the Kinect technology. You can see how easy it will be for students of the game of roundball to call plays or make substitutions using the Kinect — and these are just the basics. For more advanced gamers who are looking for a challenge, you can call a specific play in the playbook for a specific player and the game will find a comparable play designed for that call.
We wonder what happens if you tell Kobe to pass the ball!
