Fans remain patient as they await the inevitable release of All Eyez On Me, the highly-anticipated biopic set to depict the life of Tupac Shakur. November was the suspected month for the film’s debut, but producer L.T. Hutton took to Instagram to post an update on the movie’s status, stating that the Hollywood film industry will not taint the biopic.
“This 10 years of blood sweat and tears was the hardest thing I have done in my life but I took on the fight and got it done!!!!” he writes. “2Pac wrote his on story and I made this film in his voice !!!! It’s about 2Pac not about me not a company not about a director!!!! Tupac point blank!!!” Hutton added that an official release date was never announced.
Since the film’s trailer was revealed earlier this year, the biopic has received praise from those fortunate enough to view an early screening, including Diddy and The Game. The actor who plays the “Dear Mama” rapper, Demetrius Shipp Jr., also praised the turnout of the film once he wrapped the on-screen portrayal.
“RIP to Tupac Shakur, you’re a Black Pioneer and a Hero to our people and culture,” he wrote. “I hope my performance pays tribute and gives insight to your life and most of all “Spark the brain.”
