Tyler Perry should be awarded boss of the year for this one. The actor and Madea movie series creator recently gifted one of his old actresses from nearly 20 years ago a new home in Atlanta for her ill mother, TMZ reports.
LaShun Pace worked on a play with Perry back in 1999. Since then, the two have remained in touch. When Perry found out that her mother, Bettie Pace’s dream was to own a home big enough for her entire family, he shelled out $350,000 on a new home in Georgia for her. The house is reportedly close to where LaShun grew up in Atlanta.
In addition to working with Perry, Pace is a member of the gospel group, “The Anointed Pace Sisters,” whose song was featured in Perry’s movie: Tyler Perry: Madea’s Family Reunion. In a heartwarming video captured by Pace, her mother thanks Tyler for his tremendous generosity. “Tyler Perry, thank you son. … Thank you for the house. God bless you,” she said, as she later cut the red ribbon that wrapped around her new home.
It’s worth noting this isn’t Tyler’s only act of kindness this past month. When actor Geoffrey Owens was recently shamed for working at Trader Joe’s, Perry offered him a spot in The Haves and the Have Nots for Oprah’s network, OWN.
#GeoffreyOwens I’m about to start shootings OWN’s number one drama next week! Come join us!!! I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs. The measure of a true artist.
