If you’re like us and cannot wait the two weeks to see the RZA’s “The Man with the Iron Fists,” perhaps this animated prequel will tide you over.
The Wu-Tang Clan’s abbot will be making his directorial debut on November 2nd with the kung-fu epic flick and to kick off this potential trilogy, Universal Pictures has released an animated prequel that introduces RZA’s character. Narrated by the Wu-Tang chess master, the short follows the Blacksmith on his path to China and shows that not all of the fighting is confined to Jungle Village. The art is similar to another great animated martial arts flick (see: “Afro Samurai”) and even establishes a history between the Blacksmith and one of the other characters from the feature film.
