Wale is not here for people caping for problematic celebrities. The “My Boy” rapper recently exchanged a few words with Terry Crews on Twitter on Feb. 5, after the actor appeared to defend Liam Neeson, who is at the center of controversy for sharing a bizarre story about wanting to kill any “black bastard” as revenge for his friend’s rape.
The confrontation ignited between the two after Crews responded to The Independent’s report about Neeson’s controversial comments. “I believe that every person on earth is capable of the greatest good, or unspeakable evil,” the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor wrote. “Liam is just describing his fork in the road.”
To no surprise, many fans didn’t see the situation the same way. Wale responded: “Na. No. Nope. Liam is trash. We losin Brothers all the time because of this proverbial ‘fork’ . Na fam.”
It didn’t end there however. Wale and Crews went back and forth before the actor ended the conversation with a final jab. “So what are we gonna do, @wale?” Crews questioned before clarifying his initial statement about Neeson. “This is why reading comprehension is so necessary in school. I never defended Liam Neeson. Still don’t.”
As previously reported, Neeson struck a nerve after he claimed that he actively sought out killing black people in order to avenge his friend who was reportedly raped by a black man. While he admitted that his thoughts at the time were awful, he said the only thing that made him stop was power walking.
