Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal battle wits when the former’s daughter goes missing, and the latter becomes increasingly desperate to find her.
The new extended TV spot for Prisoners consists of about as much unadulterated parental nightmare as is absolutely possible to fit into sixty seconds. For the uninitiated, Jackman plays Keller Dover, a pretty normal guy who loves his wife, his neighbor, and of course, his daughter. After his six-year-old and her friend are mysteriously abducted, Detective Loki (Gyllenhaal) is brought in to make sense of the case. When the abductor’s driver is taken into custody, but released after a lack of evidence is exhibited, Jackman’s character takes the law in his own hands while Gyllenhaal must do some old-fashioned police work.

Dover and Loki seem destined to bump heads, but while the clock ticks for these two little kids who will be the first to rescue them? Prisoners is obviously intense regardless of how far both men take it.
The film, which hits theaters on September 20th, also stars Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano.
