For those who didn’t know, Tuesday (March 8) was #InternationalWomensDay and Nino Brown Day. That’s right, in celebration of the classic “Blackbuster,” New Jack City turning 25, Wesley Snipes dubbed the day Nino Brown Day in honor of his lead character.
The classic film of 1991 chronicled the drug and violence epidemic in America through the perspectives of Ice T and the police department trying to catch those criminals and Snipes, the kingpin who terrorized the streets. Their rivalry also featured memorable performances from Chris Rock (who played Pookie) and Allen Payne (who played G-Money). In addition to coining memorable lines, the film was also recognized for its iconic fashion trends.

And to celebrate Nino Brown Day and the New Jack legacy, Wesley spit-fired a roll of tweets. “Nino Brown is Eternal Baby,” the actor wrote, followed by a couple of memorable quotes from the film. Although the movie is over two decades old, Snipes managed to connect its relevance today. “My man @kanyewest is the Nino Brown of now. #SpeakTheTruth,” he typed.
Is that you Pookie? You still tweekin’ on them rocks? #CrackIsWack https://t.co/rOYaUOKBKc

Midway through his walk down memory lane, Snipes also took a moment to clap back at any of the trolls, in true Nino fashion. After someone said, “New Jack City was the best movie you ever did other than that you straight trash,” Snipes redirected the attention to point out that the troll’s line up was “crooked.”
Check out Snipes’ hilarious tweets to the trolls and his celebratory tweets about New Jack City’s milestone.
Cancel that b*tch, I’ll buy another one.#ninobrown #newjackcity
