Since acquiring LucasFilms for $4 billion buckaroos, Disney has been looking to head into outerspace. Now, they may bring George Clooney along for the ride.
Currently under the top secret title, “Tesla,” Disney’s mysterious and already-compelling sci-fi pic is gathering up steam. Brad Bird (“Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol”) is slated to direct, so the mood concerning the news is very positive. But now the team is looking to add George Clooney as the movie’s leading man—and that is some awesome news of note!
Even though nothing is official yet, Clooney is in negotiations and the House of Mouse has yet to wave the starting flag for the film.
Damon Lindelof (co-creator, “Lost”) and Jeff Jensen are the pens behind the script, which is being kept strictly hush-hush, but talk has leaked that the film could be in comparison to “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” With no real information on the web, nobody outside of those involved in the building process of the project knows what is what for sure.
In the meanwhile, Clooney is gearing up to direct a movie of his own, “The Monuments Men,” which will find him starring alongside Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin and Cate Blanchett as they track artwork stolen by the Nazis during World War II.
We will keep you posted as more word breaks with “Tesla,” or “1952” as it is also being called. Could you see one of the world’s most sexiest men on the hunt for extraterrestrial life? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
