For the millions, and we do mean millions, who are unable to attend Jay-Z‘s “Made In America” festival—don’t fret!
The Brooklyn rap megastar will see his musical extravaganza heading to the big screen, as the Oscar-winning duo of Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are set to capture all the performances for prosperity. The directing and producing team — who have done such classics as Apollo 13, Frost/Nixon and The Da Vinci Code, among others —are joining forces with Hov and Steve Stoute, who will both serve as additional producers, to document the festival and its 40-plus performers.
“The festival showcases 20 pre-eminent artists that speak to the new generation,” Grazer told the New York Post. “I am producing the film with Steve Stoute and Jay. Ron is directing. It is going to be born through Jay-Z perspective… how he puts the event together.”
Much like Jay’s classic documentary, Fade To Black, Grazer and Howard have an opportunity to showcase another milestone moment in history and capture it in visual form. Taking place in Philadelphia on September 1st and 2nd, the “Made In America” festival will feature acts such as Drake, Rick Ross, Skrillex, Odd Future, Janelle Monae, Pearl Jam, Run-DMC, Miike Snow and much, much more!
