While fans adore Will Smith’s words of encouragement and insight on Instagram, the actor is looking to compile his best life gems into a book. Smith recently announced on Thursday (July 26) that he is writing a book in collaboration with best-selling author, Mark Manson.
“I’m writing a book,” Smith announced in a video message. “I got years and years of stuff I want to say, and I’m finally going to write a book for ya’ll.”
Smith then directed the camera to Manson who was standing beside him. “I spent the last six months with crippling anxiety, but today I feel great,” when asked how he felt about tackling the huge feat.
The Suicide Squad actor also revealed that he and Manson are planning to meet with five different publishers. They will reportedly sign a deal with “the highest bidder,” Smith noted at the video’s end.
Manson is the author of the best-selling book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F**k. There are very few books using Will Smith’s name. In 2008, J.D. Rockefeller penned the book, Will Smith’s Rules to Success. In 2001, Smith wrote an illustrated children’s book, entitled Just The Two of Us, which is an ode to fatherhood.
It’s unclear what the upcoming book’s title will be or whether it will be considered a self-help read of a memoir. If it’s as good as his talks on Instagram though, it’ll likely be a best-seller.
