The son of former governor and Wisconsin Senate candidate Tommy Thompson spoke at a brunch to let the RNC know of a new opportunity that has presented itself.
Jason Thompson, attending a brunch alongside RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, said that “we have the opportunity to send President Obama back to Chicago — or Kenya.” A woman in attendance then chimed in with her two cents, saying, “We are taking donations for that Kenya trip.” A spokesman for Thompson did not immediately return a request for comment, yet did send out campaign emails highlighting the issue, writing, “The Governor has addressed this with his son, just like any father would do. Jason Thompson said something he should not have, and he apologizes.”
The spokesperson added that Tommy Thompson himself was not in attendance at the event.
Funnily enough, though, the situation was all caught on candid camera. Yet, no apology can be offered the same. Is America really ready for a Black President? We shall see, as the second round of presidential debates air tonight on ABC, YouTube, and your favorite political channels.
