Xzibit will be returning to television this September 2016, and not to pimp your ride. The former television host recently secured a recurring role in the hit FOX series, Empire. Xzibit, who first appeared on the season 2 finale of the show, confirmed the news on Instagram last week.
“Very happy to announce that I will be a series regular on the upcoming 3rd season of @empirefox. Thankful for the opportunity and excited to ‘bring it’ with the rest of the stellar cast already in place,” Xzibit wrote. While his whole storyline has not been revealed, the rapper will star as Leslie “Shyne” Johnson, a rival of Luscious Lyons (played by Terrance Howard).
But this isn’t Xzibit’s first time in the rodeo. He’s previously appeared in 8 Mile, xXx: State of the Union, and The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Xzibit joins a handful of celebrity guest appearances, including Kelly Rowland, Alicia Keys, Tyrese, and Chris Rock. The third season of Empire is slated to premiere on Sept. 21. Stay tuned for Xzibit’s character and the drama that will soon unravel.
