The flamboyant YouTube star renounced his association to homosexuality and, once again, got in front of the media to discuss “praying the gay” away. Antoine Dodson — of “hide your kids, hide your wife” fame — says that he “renounces homosexuality” and now wants a wife to be in his life. Choosing to get back “to who he is,” Dodson’s many statements painted a confusing picture about his intentions behind his self-discovery. On Facebook, he wrote in full, “I have to renounce myself, I’m no longer into homosexuality. I want a wife and family, I want to multiply and raise and love my family that I create. I could care less about the fame and fortune, I’ve given all that up to know the true history of the Bible.” Citing that he is a “True Israelite,” Dodson was interviewed by media outlet TMZ and defended his confusing announcement with a brazen religious zeal. He told them that he wanted to “stop classifying [himself] as a homosexual,” and declared homosexuality “foolishness” which needed to be moved aside just in case he should meet a woman to marry. The YouTube sensation attributed his new “heterosexual” persona to lengthy biblical research and a revelation that Jesus was Black and the “tribes of Israel” had included Black people. For many gay rights supporters, Dodson’s appeal has already worn off and it appears that the web personality is trying to keep his 15 seconds of fame going strong. The 27-year-old “entertainer” sought media exposure last July as a vocal supporter of Chick-fil-A restaurants while others were actively pressuring that company’s head, Dan Cathy, over his antagonistic views and affiliation with anti-gay marriage organizations. It seems that Dodson should “hide himself, hide his comments” from the public before he gets taken further to task over his new persona. Watch the interview below:
