Zendaya Coleman, the Disney star who’s 2015 Oscar look became the butt of Fashion Police’s Giuliana Rancic’s tasteless jokes, will now be immortalized by Barbie.
Matel took to Twitter to announce the 19 year old fashionista would be honored with a doll that would wear a mock version of her Vivienne Westwood gown along with her locks she wore to the Academy Awards.

The doll will make its debut Saturday, September 26 at the Zendaya hosted Barbie Rock ‘N Royals Concert Experience, which is a fundraiser to benefit VH1’s Save The Music.
In February, Rancic said the faux locks Coleman wore on the red carpet looked liked the “smell of “patchouli oil and weed” Rancic then incurred the ire of the Internet and later issued an apology, but not before Zendaya used the moment to teach the E! Fashion Police host about her lack of cultural sensitivity.
Zendaya recently visited the Matel offices and told Yahoo about her relationship with the iconic brand.
“When I was little, I didn’t have one that looked like me, so I couldn’t connect with her in that way,” Zendaya said. “But getting to visit the Mattel offices and see Barbie’s vision for the future…I was able to see how they plan to diversify, broadening the horizons and the image of Barbie, and make it more, you know, open. I left the office feeling it was definitely something I wanted to be a part of.”
Congrats to Zendaya!
