This morning has been an eventful one following the non-fatal explosions that occurred this past weekend in New York City and New Jersey. First, the lead person of interest was apprehended this morning in Linden, N.J. following a shoot out. Hours later, President Obama held a short press conference to hash out the goings-on of the case and if there should be any major worry.
During a New York visit—the President was attending his last United Nations General Assembly meeting in a Midtown Manhattan hotel—Obama laid out the known facts from the two potentially connected incidents, thanked police and first responders who manned the scene and assured the people that once the FBI and law enforcement find out more details, he will release them. In the meantime, “if you see something suspicious, you need to say something,” he urged the people.
Obama also zeroed in on the incidents’ silver lining: “We are extremely fortunate and grateful that no one was killed.”
