The popular e-commerce site permitted the sale of mugs and other merchandise to brides-to-be with the word “Feyoncé” printed across them, clearly playing off the “Drunk in Love” singer’s name. Those moneymakers didn’t last long after Bey’s legal team reportedly caught wind of it, though.
The BEYONCÉ brand is trademarked and the Feyoncé gimmick was a little too close for comfort. Papers were drawn up and Etsy.com was served with a swift cease and desist demanding a termination of the vending of the Feyoncé products. Without argument, the site removed the mugs from the website, but there are still more Feyoncé products for the legal side of the Beyhive to take down.
