A group of men and women driving near Atlanta flew the Confederate Battle Flag outside of a black child’s birthday party this summer, and have since been charged with with terrorist threats and gang activity, according to reports.
Fifteen members of the group Respect The Flag drove around Douglasville, Georgia with multiple flags on July 25. It’s reported the group drove through a black neighborhood and stopped outside of a black child’s birthday at about 3:30pm.
Party attendees said the group threatened them and yelled racial slurs, while members of Respect The Flag told local media outlets it was party attendees who started the confrontation. A Douglas Country grand jury charged all members with terrorist threats and with violating the state’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
Two men Joe Hood and Thomas Summers were charged with battery in separate incident that day.
