Donald Trump took Twitter Tuesday evening (Jan. 25) to issue an alarming threat to the residents of Chicago, amid the city’s mounting violence.
If Chicago doesn’t fix the horrible “carnage” going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds!

Chicago, the third largest city in the United States, recorded 762 murders and 4,300 shooting victims in 2016. Now, just 25 days into the new year, Chicago already has 42 murders compared to 34 this time last year.
Trump’s tweet came after a Bill O’ Reilly segment about the city and urged for Federal intervention. In a follow-up tweet, Trump said if Mayor Rahm Emanuel can’t get a handle on his city, he’ll intervene.
Chicago murder rate is record setting – 4,331 shooting victims with 762 murders in 2016. If Mayor can’t do it he must ask for Federal help!

While its been made obvious Trump’s disdain towards Obama, this latest jab at Emanuel comes after the former Obama chief of staff criticized the new president for boasting about his inauguration turn out.
“You didn’t get elected to debate the crowd size at your inaugural,” Emanuel said. “You got elected to make sure that people have a job, that the economy continues to grow, people have security as it relates to their kids’ education.”
