Evelyn Lozada is one strong woman. She is personable and not afraid to answer tough questions about her tumultuous 2012. The star of the reality series Basketball Wives, currently filming the show’s fifth season, had a rough 2012 that included physical abuse at the hands of her new husband Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. Johnson, when confronted about his adultery, head-butted Lozada leaving a laceration on her forehead. The incident led to a restraining order and quickie divorce last September.
“I felt like I was getting blamed for the incident happening, but at the same time I take full responsibility for putting this perception of me out there; that I argue and I just fight,” Lozada says.
The troubled couple reunited in court in December when Lozada had the restraining order against Johnson lifted, and they were spotted on what looked like a date in Miami later in the month. Lozada admits that Johnson has been “honest and real” in his interviews since the altercation.
While the world waits to find out if Lozada will pull a Rihanna or move on, the reality star spoke candidly to VIBE about her feelings towards Johnson. It seems she is making her way towards a reconciliation. “It’s tough,” she confides about her feelings towards Johnson. “He’s still fighting for his marriage and he wants it to work and doing whatever he can.” Check out the full interview with VIBE TV below.
