Foxy Brown, real name Inga Marchand, says she’s been a lifelong Democrat and has total respect for Secretary Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders, but during an interview with The New York Daily News the 37-year-old rapper said she’s switching teams for the 2016 presidential election and endorsing Donald Trump.
“No matter how many people sabotage his campaign, it keeps growing and growing and growing,” Brown said. “I know so many people won’t agree with me and will try to change my mind, but I’m a smart girl. I’m excited…I haven’t been this excited in so long.”
Brown was just 18 years old when she released her debut album Ill Na Na, which spawned the inescapable hit “Ill Be” featuring Jay Z. The Brooklyn native who has been on a musical hiatus for the last eight years, said despite many on the left who think Trump is a racist she simply doesn’t agree.
“I know people say he’s a racist, but that’s just crazy.”
Brown was recently given the key to Brooklyn by borough president President Eric Adams, and said she’s back in the studio working on new music, but will carve out time to do her part in campaigning for the Republican front runner.
