A Georgia teenager, and two friends, have been arrested in connection with her grandfather’s murder, after she reported him missing. Savanna Marie Jennings 19, was charged Wednesday (Jan. 10) in the murder of 86-year-old Otha Perrin.
Jennings lived with Perrin, who she reported missing on Sunday. She apparently turned to friends, William David Peterson and Dakota Scott Street to commit and cover up the crime. But a family member reportedly became suspicious of Perrin’s disappearance, and reached to the local sheriff’s office, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution reports.
On Monday, authorities discovered Perrin’s body in a pond located on a private farm. A .22 caliber riffle was also recovered.
Jennings initially denied involvement in the murder but later confessed, according to Elbert County Sheriff Melvin Andrews.
Jennings and Peterson, who is also 19, face charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and concealing Perrin’s death. Street, 18, faces a charge for concealing the death of another.
Jennings and Peterson are being held without bond, Street’s bond has been set at $25,000, reports the New York Post.
Perrin died from multiple gun shot wounds, according to authorities.
