No more plastic toys for you Happy Meal lovers. Fast food titan McDonald’s is set to distribute 20 million paperback books in the kids’ size meals from November 1-14, according to USA Today.
The 24-28 paged books will focus on “nutrition, imagination and active play,” said Lisa McComb, spokeswoman for McDonalds. With titles such as Doddi the Dodo Goes to Orlando and The Goat Who Ate Everything, the four book series will host the Golden Arches’ Funky Farm Happy Meal characters, including an ant and a dinosaur.
“Happy Meals fun for kids can be used to educate and inspire good choices,” McComb said.
This isn’t the first time Mickey D’s included books in meals. In 2011, American Girl stories were distributed, and in 1988 Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit was issued.
