Former police officer Eric Casebolt, who was recorded manhandling and straddling a teenage African-American girl at a McKinney, TX pool party, won’t face charges a grand jury decided Thursday. (June 23)
In 2015, Casebolt arrived at the scene, responding to a fight that broke out between two parents. It is unclear what role, if any, the girl played in the fight between the two adults. However, the girl, would eventually be thrown to the ground and her faced pushed in the ground. The disturbing video only grew more heinous as the girl can be heard begging for her mother.
The video, which to date has received more than 12 million views, sparked immediate outrage due to Casebolts aggressive handling of the situation. Yet despite the video, a grand jury decided to toss out the case entirely citing there wasn’t enough evidence. The McKinney Police Department released a statement to a local news station detailing how the grand jury came to its decision.

In light of this, we seek to work in partnership with all who live and work in this great city. The incident at the Craig Ranch Pool in 2015 was turned over to the Texas Rangers for investigation. The Rangers concluded their investigation and presented it to the Collin County District Attorney’s Office. On Thursday, June 23, the District Attorney’s office presented the findings of the Rangers’ investigation to a grand jury. The grand jury’s decision was to “no bill” any charges against Eric Casebolt in relation to the June 2015 incident.
