Donald Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, sat down today (Feb. 24) with Morning Joe’s Mika Brzezinski on MSNBC to discuss the rather questionable racially insensitive remarks her spouse has made in the media; in regards to Mexicans and Muslims.
Melania hasn’t been very visible at all on her husband’s campaign, but with his latest win Tuesday night (Feb 23) in Nevada; she decided to speak up.
Essentially, Mrs. Trump does not think he offended Mexicans, and says he did not call an entire ban on Muslims, which most think he did. Melania, who is an immigrant herself, feels her husband “opened a conversation nobody did.” Also, she said that despite her being an immigrant as well, she is not the type of immigrant he is talking about.
“I followed the law,” she said. “I followed the law the way it’s supposed to be. I never thought to stay here without papers.”
In regards to the ban on Muslims she feels Trump isn’t “going too far,” and that “He said it would be temporary…And it’s not for all the Muslims. He said we need to screen them.”

Though she is standing firm on defending her husband, she admits to not agreeing with everything her husband does or says. “Sometimes he listens, sometimes he don’t,” she said. “I follow the news from A-Z. I know what’s going on. I’m on the phone with my husband a few times a day.”
Lastly, Melania touched upon how Trump treats women in the Trump Organization, which she says is fair treatment. “They’re treated equal,” she said. “I see him in life. He treats women the same as men. he will tell you what’s in his heart, what he thinks, he will not hold it back if you’re a woman. you’re human, a woman or a man, it’s no different.”
Well at least someone else besides the state of Nevada agrees with Trumps’ wrong convictions. Watch the full interview below.
