First Lady Michelle Obama continues to use technology to reach the masses, as well as the millennials. On Tuesday (June 21) as a way to promote her upcoming trip overseas, FLOTUS joined the ever-so addictive and popular messaging app Snapchat.
According to The White House, Obama, who already has 4.6 million followers on Twitter, and five million on Instagram, joined Snapchat so people could follow her trip to Liberia, Morocco and Spain as part of her “Let Girls Learn” initiative.
Also joining the First Lady on the trip beginning at the end of June are Sasha and Malia, Meryl Streep, “Slumdog Millionaire” star Freida Pinto and Mrs. Obama’s mother, Mrs. Marian Robinson. Obama’s “Let Girls Learn” initiative is dedicated to getting the more than 62 million adolescent girls around the world into classrooms, and allowing them the opportunity to learn and be educated just like boys.
To add to what will no doubt be an awesome array of selfies and filters Mrs. Obama will take, it’s also been announced she’s slated to join James Cordon on an episode of Carpool Karaoke.
Sadly, Mrs. Obama didn’t Snap any of her Carpool Karaoke time with Cordon, so we’re going to have to wait. But yeah, Tuesday was a big day for the First Lady. Snapchat and then Carpool Karaoke. Kinda lit.
