Robin Denson of West Palm Beach, Florida is pleading for her son, Marlin Larice Joseph, to turn himself into authorities. Joseph, 26, is suspected by West Palm Beach police of killing his mother’s girlfriend and her daughter last Thursday (Dec. 28) in their home.
The victim’s were Kaladaa Crowell, 36, and her 11-year-old Kyra Inglett. Crowell died instantly, while Kyra died Friday morning (Dec. 29) after being admitted to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Monday afternoon (Jan. 1), a tearful Denson stood in front of the West Palm Beach Police Department pleading with her missing son who allegedly took off after the murder’s in Crowell’s 2012 gray Toyota Camry.
“Marlin, son, I love you,” said a sorrowful Denson,“You know I love you, but please, turn yourself in. If you’re scared to do so, call me.” Denson was accompanied by her two other children, Pops and Annie during the six minute press conference.
Joseph was last seen early Friday morning withdrawing money from a bank near Military Trail and Community Drive. He has multiple face tattoos including a cross between his eyes and police describe him as 5’10” and roughly 180 pounds.
The city is currently offering $5,000 for any tips leading to Joseph’s immediate arrest, says assistant chief of U.S. Marshal Service Manny Puri. Denson was outside of the home when shots were fired, and insists she has not talked to her son nor knows of his current whereabouts.
In 2013, Joseph spent less than a year in prison for battery of a child after being accused of lewd behavior with a 13-year-old girl when he was 22.
Denson reportedly hasn’t spoken to Crowell’s family because they did not approve of their same-sex relationship.
“They’re from a Christian family and I respect that ‘cause I was raised in a Christian family,” said Denson. “They just didn’t really like that me and her were together and I respect that.”
Since Wednesday, Denson has not eaten and has gotten very little sleep as she has been working with police to find her son. “I love my son, but I loved Kyra and Kaladaa, too,” a weeping Denson continued, “I just want him to turn himself in. I know the family wants justice. I want justice, too.”
