The New York Times was caught slipping last week when the world-renowned news source printed a fake quote from Kanye West. In a column titled “Fear of Kim Kardashian’s Derriere,” the article cites falsified quotes from a satirical site called The Daily Currant:
“I don’t understand why everyone is focusing on Kim’s booty.” he said. “Obviously I love her ass. That’s why I married her. But nobody has an ass like mine. I have one of the top three asses of all time. My booty is like Michelangelo level, you feel me? It’s like a sculpture.”
To add insult to injury, The Times also co-signed the satirical site’s source, Chicago’s WGYN – which does not exist. Luckily, the newspaper caught their error and printed a retraction beneath the column:
While Yeezy has been know to toot his own horn, something tells us he wouldn’t say “But nobody has an ass like mine.” But that’s none of our business.
