This might be the best example of when keeping it real goes wrong, or as the kids nowadays say “Whose man’s is this?”
According to The New York Daily News, an off-duty correction officer was charged with assault and reckless endangerment for displaying a gun and shooting himself in the finger and the woman he was with in the right foot.
Mario Carrillo, 56, agreed to meet up with two women at Mamasita Bar & Grill in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen Tuesday. (May 23) Reports say Carrillo was telling the women about his job when he took his gun out and it went off.
The 30-year-old wounded woman was considering joining the corrections department. Witnesses say after Carrillo shot himself he screamed “My hand! My hand!” After shooting himself, he put the gun back in the holster and left the bar.
Carrillo and the woman were both transported to Bellevue Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. When speaking to police, Carrillo said the gun fell and initially two women went along with his lie. Yet when confronted with video evidence, the women fessed up.
The Department of Corrections has since suspended Carrillo.
So again, we ask, whose man’s is this?
