
Just 60 miles north of Charleston, S.C., another black church has been terrorized. Late Tuesday evening (June 30) Mount Zion AME Church was destroyed by a fire in Greeleyville, The Post and Courier reports.

This is the seventh black church that’s been added to a list of significant Southern religious establishments that have been set on fire, which launched an FBI investigation earlier this week.

Dating back to 1995, Mount Zion AME Church was demolished at the hands of the Ku Klux Klan by arson. Former President Bill Clinton also gave a speech on the church fires during that time at Mount Zion in 1996.
